How to Set the Pressure of Hydraulic Breakers

As a professional and durable excavator attachment manufacturer, we provide detailed guidance on hydraulic breaker pressure setting to help you optimize performance and extend service life.

1. Nitrogen Pressure Setting for Hydraulic Breakers

  • Standard Range: Typically, the nitrogen pressure of hydraulic breakers (e.g., 155 model) is set to 16.5±0.5MPa. This range ensures stable operation and maximum working efficiency during construction.

  • Pressurization Notes: Use professional nitrogen cylinders and pressure tools, and strictly follow the manufacturer’s operating instructions. Ensure the nitrogen cylinder pressure is within the safe limit and prevent leaks during pressurization.

2. Adjustment of Hydraulic Breaker Working Pressure

  • Adjustment Mechanism: A relief valve is usually installed on the hydraulic pipeline connecting the breaker to the excavator (near the cab on the excavator’s boom). This valve is the key component for regulating working pressure.

  • Adjustment Methods:

  • Clockwise rotation: Increases the hydraulic breaker’s working pressure.

  • Counterclockwise rotation: Decreases the hydraulic breaker’s working pressure.

  • Important Precautions:

  • Adjust gradually to avoid sudden pressure spikes that may damage equipment or cause operational instability.

  • Conduct a test run after adjustment to ensure the pressure meets actual work requirements and the equipment operates smoothly.

  • If you are unfamiliar with the equipment structure or adjustment process, consult professional technicians or the manufacturer’s technical support for safe operation.

3. Operation and Maintenance Recommendations for Hydraulic Breakers

  • Operational Standards: Follow the manufacturer’s operating manual and safety guidelines to ensure operator safety and stable equipment performance.

  • Daily Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the hydraulic breaker, including checking for loose bolts/connectors, hydraulic pipeline leaks, and replacing worn parts or refilling hydraulic oil in a timely manner.

  • Nitrogen Management: For newly commissioned or repaired breakers, recharge nitrogen to the specified pressure range. When not in use for an extended period, release all nitrogen and seal the oil inlets/outlets to prevent equipment damage.
